“Be quiet,” Preash muttered.
He felt it was a lunatic idea to have a conversation with GOD. Somewhere within, Preash felt the responsibility to protect Sweety from the maniac. The girl whom he has never met before yet he felt close to her irrespective of the danger, they were in.
“Why should I be quiet?” Sweety exploded, like an uncontrollable flood. “Why am I always said what to do and what not to do? I have my mind and voice. I can speak whatever I want. Shouldn’t I speak even in this dreadful situation?”
She was fed up; nobody knew why Sweety behaved like that except her inner being. Nobody responded including Preash.
“Is anybody there? Why are you all silent.” Gomathi, the little girl asked after a while. For two strangers, strangers themselves become the support system in an unknown space. That’s what happened in their case too. When one went silent, the other made sure that they weren’t alone.
“We all are here, don’t worry,” Sweety said
“Sister, why did my uncle put me here?” Gomathi asked. After a long time, the little girl realized the fact that she was far away from home.
“I am sorry, I don’t know?” Sweety said with a heavy heart, she didn’t know to comfort the girl.
“Who is your uncle? Do you remember how you ended up here?” Preash asked. Whenever an opportunity opened up, he jumped into cracking his greatest puzzle of all time.
“I was with my uncle and Ezhil. My uncle took us to a hilly area and asked us to hide in the dilapidated building. He said he will come soon.” Gomathi said and started crying. “He didn’t come back.” She cried”
GOD laughed loudly and said, “So you came here? Pity girl, Oh pity. What a hide-and-seek game, don’t worry, your uncle will never find you.”
“What do you want GOD? Let’s be transparent, no more games, Please. Tell us, why have you taken us here.” God’s maniac laugh made Preash speak up again.
“I want everything, my love, my home, my reputation, my identity, my life. I want everything back.”
“Are we responsible for that? Did this little girl take anything from you, or for that matter anyone out here?” Preash questioned furiously.
“You can’t take revenge like this. Just think.” Sweety said.
“Revenge?” GOD laughed again.
“Preash, he isn’t the one.” Raja the silent spectator said politely.
“Then, who? Why are we here? Can anyone just say me?” Preash shouted crazily.
“Hey, don’t make noise,” Arivuchelvi ordered politely in an authoritative tone.
“We will” Everyone rebelled.
“It’s a police patrol, Police patrol.” Tensed Elango alerted.
“You can’t escape, here’s the police. Dammits, look what’s going to happen. Nobody will be spared; the gang of culprits will be punished.” The excited Preash spoke confidently with the hope of getting out of that dark.
“Gang of culprits, Hmmm nice name. I will consider it. But am sorry my son. They can’t find me, they can’t, if they try, they are finished.” A new spooky voice emerged for the very first time
